Scope and operator
ABot is maintained by Dor Shitrit. These terms describe use of the ABot website, journal and Marketplace, and important conditions for using ABot Runtime and ABot AI Companion. Our privacy policy explains the related information processing.
These terms do not replace the software's open-source license, third-party licenses or rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law. A locally operated Runtime is not a managed hosting service supplied by us.
Free and open source
ABot Runtime is distributed under the MIT License. Your rights to use, copy, modify and distribute the licensed code come from that license. These website terms do not take those rights away.
Preserve applicable copyright and license notices. Models, plugins, bundled dependencies and operating-system components may have their own licenses. ABot's name and branding do not grant permission to imply an official endorsement of a modified distribution.
ABot's own Marketplace listings are free to access. Open-source software does not make third-party model APIs, cloud hosting, network access or hardware free. You are responsible for costs from services and accounts you choose to use.
You choose what the agent can do
ABot coordinates models, tools and multi-step work. Models can misunderstand instructions, produce incorrect information or take an unintended action. Check consequential results and maintain backups. Outputs are not a substitute for qualified medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.
Only provide data, credentials and access that you have authority to use. Choose models, workspaces, permissions and integrations appropriate to the task. Do not use hosted ABot services to distribute malware, invade privacy, infringe rights, submit unlawful material, spam others or disrupt the service.
Computer and command tools can change files, interact with other applications and send information to external services. Permission settings vary: some modes allow execution without asking at every step. Plugin declarations and workspace boundaries are not a guarantee of operating-system isolation.
SPARK, saved Studio workflows and scheduled tasks have their own models and controls. Pausing one feature does not necessarily stop another. Review permissions and active work before leaving an agent unattended; revoking access cannot reverse actions already completed.
Windows Companion
ABot AI Companion is a host connection component used with a compatible Runtime. Installing it does not install a model or make a remote service local. WSL and Docker setups need suitable local connectivity to the Windows host.
Review the displayed Runtime address before confirming a pairing invitation. Protect connection links and credentials. A connected Companion may continue running when its window is closed; use disconnect and startup controls when you no longer want the connection.
Microsoft Store distribution is subject to the applicable Microsoft terms and policies. Availability, certification and update delivery are separate from the open-source project. Do not bypass Windows security warnings or protections merely to complete setup.
Providers, models and plugins
OpenAI, Ollama, GitHub, Microsoft and other services are independent of ABot. Their terms, privacy policies, availability, licenses and charges apply to your use of them. ABot is not endorsed by those providers simply because it can connect to them.
Sending a request to a hosted model may transmit conversation context, document content, tool results or images, not just your most recent message. A local chat model does not prevent a separate embedding provider, plugin or workflow step from using the network. See the provider disclosures before connecting services.
You decide which third-party code to install and which credentials to supply. Inspect a plugin's source, permissions, dependencies and license. A listing, structural check or administrator approval is not a security audit or a guarantee of safety, ownership, compatibility or fitness for your purpose.
Marketplace and community submissions
Submit only repositories and descriptions you are entitled to share. Provide accurate information about behavior, dependencies, license and required capabilities. Do not include private credentials or misleading claims. The current Marketplace is a plugin catalog; submission is not automatic publication.
By submitting a listing, you permit us to retrieve its public repository metadata, inspect its declared structure and display the submitted listing and relevant metadata if approved. This permission does not transfer ownership of your code or give us rights beyond its applicable license. Source code remains subject to its repository license.
We may decline, hide or remove access to hosted submissions that violate these terms, present risks or no longer meet catalog requirements. Moderation history may remain stored as explained in the privacy policy. Anonymous submission does not prove repository ownership.
Opening an installation link hands source information to a compatible local application. It is not permission for the website to silently execute the plugin. Review the local installation flow before proceeding.
Approved journal comments become public. Keep comments relevant and lawful; do not disclose another person's private information without authority. For a listing, copyright or moderation concern, contact [email protected] with the relevant URL.
Availability, warranties and liability
The software's warranty disclaimer and liability terms are set out in the MIT License for code covered by it. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the hosted website and catalog are provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted operation, error-free output or the safety of third-party content.
We do not guarantee that a model or agent will complete a task, that automation will be suitable for a high-stakes use, or that a particular device, operating system or plugin will remain compatible. Beta features can change. Keep your own recovery plan for important data and actions.
Nothing here excludes or limits rights or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited. These terms do not create a paid support agreement or service-level commitment.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the project and hosted services change, showing the updated date on this page. Changes do not retroactively revoke rights already granted under an open-source license. Material changes to hosted-service terms may require additional notice or acceptance where the law requires it.
